Provisional Version

The Biblical prophets have held many beautiful visions of the future New Jerusalem, both as a marvelous city and as a community of the faithful. The New Testament added to this vision fabulous descriptions of the Twelve-gated city of the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven (Rev. 21:10-27) and of an ideal community of 144,000 virtuous people, representing the 12 tribes of the New Israel (Rev. 14:1). Islam has added many further visions of Jerusalem as the scene of great events of the future of all humankind.

John Michell, a foremost scholar of sacred geometry and ancient monuments, and an associate of the Academy of Jerusalem, has explored the dimensions of the City of Revelation, the New Jerusalem, and elucidated The New Jerusalem Diagram of ancient cosmology as a symbol and technology for harmonizing diverse principles, used in ancient monuments such as the Great Pyramid and Stonehenge. In our upcoming New Genesis Exegesis, we'll show how the book of Genesis has employed this diagram.

The term "The New Jerusalem" has, in time, become a term for an ideal human and urban development anywhere. In publications of our Academy of Jerusalem, we have shown the universal application of the concept of the New (or Heavenly) Jerusalem, and proposed it as the symbol for the new spiritual orientation of Israel and of Zionism

A New Jerusalem Vision: The area of the whole Old City of Jerusalem would be incorporated, and dedicated to bestow peace upon the Middle East, and even the whole world. It could be named (or Christened, if you like) as "The New Jerusalem YeShUT" (as an acronym for the "Yeru-Shalem Universal Temple"). An attractive name for Islam may be Al-HEJERA (as an acronym for “The Heavenly Jerusalem Agency”).

The New Jerusalem Plan: To enlist an international constituency of "Heavenly/New Jerusalem citizens", who show commitment and love to Jerusalem. This body of Lovers of Jerusalem would take custody over Jerusalem Old City, including the Temple Mount. An apt symbolic target would be 12 "tribes" of various Christian, Jewish and Moslem denominations, each up to 12,000 strong (redolent of Revelation 14:1). Like the known concept of “time-sharing” ownership of real estate, these New Jerusalem citizens will have a stake in the Old City of Jerusalem being transformed into the Yeru-Shalem Universal Temple.

The realization of the Yeru-Shalem Universal Temple can then happen gradually from the top down. First it will be exercised virtually, over the Internet. Then light beams can be erected to show the spiritual work of the YeShUT without changing any of the actual structures. Then eventually other light structures and dirigibles may be added, gradually building up. As the Revelation of John (21:10-27) already predicted - the New Jerusalem Cube (or The New- Kaaba, if you will) would soon be seen to come down from heaven.
