Solving the Jerusalem Old City Problem which proved the ultimate problem for the Israeli-Paletinian NegotiationsThe Old City of Jerusalem, within the walls should stay
an undivided whole. Also the contending sides would not agree to its division. The whole (Shalem)
city within the walls, with its Mosques, Churches and Synagogues, is a Temple, and should
be kept, and developed, as “A House of Prayer for All the Nations” (Isaiah 56:7). For
maintaining this holy realm, there should become an interfaith body of all the lovers of
Jerusalem – “The New Jerusalem” - constituted from adherents of the monotheistic
faiths and all who feel affiliated to Jerusalem.
To be whole, this entity should best be made in the
twelvefold pattern of faiths, which may develop into the Twelve Tribe system. This
care-taking body would work in cooperation with the local residents. A virtual version of
the Jerusalem City- Temple would serve to assemble and exercise this New Jerusalem entity.
